Thank you to all interested applicants who have sent their documents within the set time frame. All applications are currently reviewed by the IMPRS selection committee. Until December 23rd all applicants will receive information whether they are sortlisted and invited or not to the IMPRS Recruitment Workshop on Feb 10 -12, 2025.
We welcome all our new IMPRS students! On September 10 + 11, 2024 our IMPRS Introductory Workshop for the group of 26 new students took place to introduce them to the program and the facilities of our four IMPRS institutes MPA, MPE, ESO, LMU/USM.
Congratulations! Dr. Elena Hoemann, IMPRS student in 2019-2023, has been granted a doctoral award by the Munich University Society (MUG) for her dissertation, “Merging, fragmentation and collapse of interstellar filaments.” More info
Congratulations! Dr. Oliver Zier, IMPRS student in 2019-2023, has been awarded with an Otto Hahn Medal 2024. More info
Congratulations! Prof. Dr. Reinhard Genzel, IMPRS supervisor and lecturer, has been awarded with the Nobel Prize in Physics 2020, jointly with Andrea Ghez, for the discovery of a supermassive compact object at the centre of our galaxy. More info
