Prof. Dr. Eiichiro Komatsu

Eiichiro Komatsu is a director at the Max-Planck-Institute for Astrophysics (since August 2012). He
obtained his doctoral degree from Tohoku University in Japan in 2001. After doing a postdoc at
Princeton University, he joined the University of Texas at Austin as a faculty member in 2003. He is
interested in and works on all aspects of physical cosmology.
Research interests:

- Topics: Physics of cosmic inflation; Nature of dark matter; Nature of dark energy
- Tools: Cosmic microwave background; Large-scale structure of the universe; Clusters of galaxies
