Prof. Dr. Thomas Preibisch
Thomas Preibisch is Professor for Observational Astronomy at the University Observatory Muenchen since October 2008. He holds a doctoral degree from the Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg (1995) where he also worked as a scientist in the DFG Schwerpunktprogram 'Physics of Star Formation' until 1998. From 1999 until 2008 he was a staff scientist in the Infrared Astronomy Group at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy in Bonn.
Research interests:
- X-ray studies of young stars
- Stellar populations and star formation histories of young clusters and OB associations
- Stellar feedback effects and triggering of star formation
- Infrared interferometry of young stellar objects
