Dr. Esra Bulbul

Dr. Bulbul's research lies at the cross roads of astrophysics, cosmology, and particle physics. She is mostly recognised for her work on indirect searches of dark matter particle through its decay or annihilation in the X-ray band. She utilizes X-ray data from space telescopes (e.g. eROSITA, Chandra, XMM-Newton, Hitomi, Suzaku) with radio observations from the South Pole Telescope to study the properties and evolution of ordinary baryonic matter and dark matter in clusters of galaxies in her research. She was awarded > $1M NASA funding as a PI, >1Ms space-based and 49 hours of ground-based observations for her research. Dr. Bulbul was invited to more than 30 colloquia and international conferences World wide. She is also involved in leadership activities. She is currently the deputy chair of the eROSITA cluster and cosmology working group.
