Gayoung Chon is working at the University Observatory of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitäts München. She obtained her doctoral degree from University of Cambridge in 2004, where she studied theoretical aspects of the Cosmic Microwave Background. She has since worked mainly in Europe in the area of cosmology and astrophysics with an emphasis on the studies intra-cluster medium and large-scale structure.

Research interests:

• Physics of galaxy clusters, Superclusters.
• Large-scale structure and Cosmology.
• X-ray and Gamma-ray astrophysics with AGN and clusters of galaxies.
• Multi-messenger astrophysics.
