Prof. Dr. Kevin Heng
Kevin Heng is Chair Professor of Theoretical Astrophysics of Extrasolar Planets at the University Observatory Munich since 2022. He received his Ph.D degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2007. After holding fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton) and ETH Zurich, he became assistant professor and then professor at the University of Bern, Switzerland, for a decade (2013 to 2022).
During part of his stint at Bern, he was the executive director of the interdisciplinary Center for Space and Habitability (CSH) from 2016 to 2022. He held an ERC Consolidator Grant (worth 2 million euros) from 2018 to 2023. He wrote the second textbook on exoplanetary atmospheres: "Exoplanetary Atmospheres: Theoretical Concepts and Foundations" (2017, Princeton University Press), which was awarded the 2018 Chambliss Astronomical Writing Award of the American Astronomical Society.

- Theory, simulation, observations, phenomenology and geosciences of exoplanets and their atmospheres;
